Red Carpet Beauty: Carice Van Houten for the Game of Thrones Premiere
I couldn’t contain my excitement when I was invited to Belfast to do Carice van Houten’s red carpet make up for the Game of Thrones premiere. Here’s a sneak peek behind the scenes…
Winter is coming… And I got to fly to Belfast to prep Carice van Houten, aka the Red Woman Melisandre, for the much-anticipated Game of Thrones premiere. With the whole world’s eyes on her and the rest of the award-winning cast, the pressure was on for the unveiling of the final season that fans have been waiting for.
And didn’t she look incredible? Here’s how I achieved her look – including the red lip nod to her character’s dressing habits…
I prepped Carice’s skin with Shiseido Essential Energy Moisturiser – a light-weight, super hydrating cleanser perfect for creating a base for make-up.
I then applied Shiseido Syncro Skin Foundation, bouncing the product lightly over the face using a damp beauty blender.
Finally, I swirled a nude peach blush to the apples of Carice’s cheeks to add a little warmth.
Eyes to Hypnotise
First, I smudged a plum kohl pencil along Carice’s lash line before blending to produce a natural smokey liner effect.
I went with the Shiseido VisionAiry lipstick in Ginza Red for a sumptuous plump pout – and subtle nod to her GoT character, the Red Priestess.
